 EquityStore FAQ

  • What is EquityStore?

EquityStore is a new world of investment - open not only to the business and banking elites but to everybody. Welcome to the world's revolutionary new community for raising and investing capital.

  • How does EquityStore work?

EquityStore is an online community that allows investors to meet people looking to raise capital. Ideas are pitched in the online forums for investors to browse and investments are made once direct contact has been established.

  • How do I start making money with EquityStore?

Click on INVESTMENT FORUMS at the top of the home page. You will find investment opportunities are organised into categories. Once you have entered a forum you can post to other members of the EquityStore community about the funds you need or the investment you want to make. It's that simple!

  • How do I choose investments that are right for me?

Firstly, spend some time browsing through the forums and make a note of any opportunity that grabs your attention. If you have specialist knowledge of a given area then put it to good use. If not simply do a little research, take your time and know that good investment is about trusting good instincts.

Remember, you can always ask for more information in the forums.

  • How should I proceed once I find an investment I am interested in?

The first step is to register your interest by posting on the thread in the forum. You will want to provide contact details and establish direct communication with the person looking to raise capital. This can be done discreetly by simply providing an email address.

Once you have established contact you can discuss the details. It is very often worth considering the value of a face-to-face meeting or even a 'Dragon's Den' style formal pitch. You will need to establish how much you are willing to invest, what return you expect, the time expected for the investment to 'mature' and any other conditions.

Be clear and keep it simple.

  • Is there a particular way to present my ideas to investors?

We advise you to be as clear and concise as possible.

There is no set formula for pitching your ideas to investors in the EquityStore forums, but you should try to include the information that an investor will want to have at their disposal. This will inevitably include a summary of your idea, product or concept. You should also detail how much capital you are looking to raise, what return you anticipate and the time-frame for doing so. In addition you may include information about your business strategy, previous experience and balance sheets.

Further details can be provided in direct communication with investors as and when they require.

  • Should I be taking legal advice?

We recommend that you take legal advice before investing or receiving capital. Having lawyers draft your financial agreement provides peace of mind and removes the hassle of doing it yourself. Furthermore, the financial cost is usually covered many, many times over by the profits of a successful venture.

The Law Society provides useful information and will also help you find appropriate legal advice. There are free consultations with lawyers available as standard.
